Nashville is a beautiful city with endless options for engagement session locations. Whether you’re looking for urban landscapes, scenic nature spots, or a mix of both, Nashville has something for everyone.
Before deciding on a location, I would recommend doing a little brainstorming. Think about your relationship with your fiancé, and what type of location would best suit you as a couple. Do you love being outside and walking at the park? Do you love coffee and donuts? Do you have a favorite ice cream shop that you visit together? Places that are meaningful to you can add so much personality into a shoot, and help you feel comfortable.
Once you have an idea in mind of what type of background you want, you can chat with your photographer about location options. Here are some of my favorite places for engagement sessions in the Nashville area, perfect for creating beautiful, timeless photos.
-
Cheekwood Estate and Gardens
Cheekwood is a stunning location for an engagement session. The 55 acre estate features beautiful gardens, fountains, and historic architecture, providing the perfect backdrop for luxury, timeless photography. The estates’s gardens offer a variety of seasonal flowers and colors, making it a beautiful location year round. They do have a fee for photography, so make sure your photographer gets a permit and be prepared to pay a little extra.
2. Centennial Park
Centennial Park is a Nashville staple, and although it can get crowded, its beautiful landscaping and big pond make it a lovely backdrop for photos, especially in the spring.
3. Downtown Nashville
The downtown area offers a variety of urban locations perfect for engagement photos. The pedestrian bridge is a classic landmark with a beautiful view of the city, and is a short walk to Cumberland Park, which offers green spaces and a stunning skyline view.
4. War Memorial Auditorium
War Memorial Auditorium is a great option for urban photos that don’t just scream Nashville. It features lovely columns and space to walk around, and it’s a short walk to the capitol building.
5. Harlinsdale Farm
While Harlinsdale is a bit out of the way, I still wanted to include it because it’s worth driving a little extra for. Located about 30 minutes south of Nashville, the park’s walking trails, stables, and rolling hills provide that iconic Tennesssee landscape with endless opportunities for creating fun and natural images.
