Timeless Tennessee State Museum Wedding with a Cathedral of the Incarnation Ceremony

October 28, 2025

From a heartfelt ceremony at the Cathedral of the Incarnation to a lively Tennessee State Museum wedding reception, Cait and Jacob’s June celebration in Nashville was the perfect mix of timeless tradition and modern fun. Every part of their day felt personal and full of life, from the emotional moments to the laughter that carried late into the night.

Cait and her bridesmaids got ready in matching summer pajamas, perfect for a warm June morning in Nashville. Their getting-ready space was spacious and comfortable, which was such a gift with a bridal party of ten. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the morning without feeling cramped. The main room was decorated with cute white balloons, adding a festive touch to the relaxed atmosphere.

One of my favorite details from their wedding day was the classic invitation suite. It felt timeless and elegant, and the envelope liner printed with the Nashville skyline made it extra special. It was the perfect nod to the city where their story unfolded and a subtle preview of their Tennessee State Museum wedding celebration later that evening.

As Cait got into her gown, the excitement in the room grew. When she shared a reveal with her bridesmaids, it was a sweet, memorable moment. Those genuine reactions are what make wedding mornings so special. Meanwhile, Jacob and his groomsmen were getting ready in their own space. Jacob’s custom tux was incredible, with a white jacket, black lapel, and their wedding date stitched on the back of the collar. It was such a cool, personal touch. After getting dressed, the guys toasted with drinks and kicked off the day’s celebrations.

Before heading to their Cathedral of the Incarnation Nashville wedding ceremony, Cait and Jacob decided to share a first look at their reception venue, the Tennessee State Museum. The museum’s modern architecture and clean lines made it the perfect setting for this special moment. Up on the balcony, Jacob waited for Cait, and the moment they saw each other, their faces lit up with the biggest smiles. It was such a genuine and personal moment between the two of them.

After their first look, they shared private vows, just the two of them. Both teared up as they read their words, surrounded by the quiet elegance of the museum. It was a beautiful pause in the day, filled with emotion and connection. From there, we moved on to portraits, and the Tennessee State Museum’s stately columns provided a stunning backdrop. The architecture is striking and elegant, providing a beautiful setting for their photos. To make it even better, Cait and Jacob brought their dogs for a few portraits! It was such a fun way to include their pups in their big day, and it brought out some of the sweetest, most candid smiles.

We also took wedding party portraits outside, where you could catch glimpses of downtown Nashville in the distance, a subtle reminder of where Cait and Jacob were celebrating their love.

Cait and Jacob’s ceremony took place at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, one of Nashville’s most breathtaking and historic churches. The soaring ceilings, intricate details, and timeless beauty of the space make it a truly special place to say “I do.” Their traditional Catholic ceremony was heartfelt and full of meaning, as they exchanged vows surrounded by friends and family and the grandeur of the Cathedral. The ceremony felt both sacred and joyful, reflecting Cait and Jacob’s love for each other.

After the ceremony, everyone was in high spirits as the couple and some of their wedding party boarded a trolley bound for the reception. Music and laughter filled the trolley as everyone sang along, making the ride a joyful highlight of the day.

Guests arrived at the Tennessee State Museum to find the modern space transformed into a vibrant celebration. One of the things I love most about a Tennessee State Museum wedding is how versatile the space is, with clean architecture, beautiful natural light, and a second-floor rotunda with amazing views. I was able to capture some stunning overhead shots that showcased the entire setup: the black-and-white checkered dance floor, glowing marquee letters spelling out their last name, and the warm glow of summer florals on every table.

Cait and Jacob’s head table sat right by the dance floor, surrounded by round guest tables adorned with bright, cheerful floral centerpieces that were perfect for a summer wedding. On either side of the dance floor were cozy lounge areas with blue-and-white floral chairs and soft white couches. These thoughtful details made the space elegant and inviting, with cozy seating for guests near the dance floor.

The cake was another favorite detail, featuring delicate, bright florals and playful figurines of their dogs “caught” sneaking a taste.

Once the newlyweds entered the reception, they shared their first dance under the soft glow of the museum lights. The evening flowed seamlessly from toasts to dinner to parent dances, each moment full of joy and meaning. When open dancing began, the energy on the floor was incredible. Cait and Jacob passed out custom trucker hats and light-up leis, and soon the dance floor was glowing with color and movement as guests joined in celebrating late into the night.

As the evening drew to a close, guests lined up outside the museum for Cait and Jacob’s grand exit. This special send-off also revealed the gender of their baby. Cait, glowing with happiness and love, walked with Jacob through a tunnel of cheering guests holding streamer poppers. When the streamers burst into the air, they revealed the color pink; it’s a girl! The crowd cheered with joy, and Cait and Jacob’s reactions were absolutely priceless. It was such a magical, emotional way to end their wedding day with a celebration of not just their marriage, but the beautiful new chapter ahead.
